Junior Castro scored a last minute goal to give Meridian a 1-1 draw at Sedro-Woolley in a Northwest Conference match Friday, March 22.
"We came into it knowing that they would be tired after their win over Sehome," Meridian coach Joe Spencer said in a phone interview. "We just wanted to keep it close and fight until the end. Sedro is a good team and had plenty of quality chance. Patrick Carlson was absolutely fantastic in goal tonight."
Spencer said they were able to earn a corner and put as many players forward as they could.
"Jake Birnel just stepped out and Junior made a great run and stuck it far post with his head," Stacy said. "He really went up and got it and finished it well."
The Trojans host Bellingham in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday, March 26.
