The Mount Baker softball team blanked Lynden Christian 4-0 on Thursday, March 21, at Bender Field.
Emma Lallas provided the offense for the Mountaineers, going 2 for 3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Emily Brandland picked up the win in the circle, and Aleks Toivola recorded the save.
"We had baserunners in every inning and couldn't get a clutch base hit," Lynden Christian coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. "There were only two walks in the game, so both pitchers were throwing strikes and pitching pretty well."
Both Mount Baker (2-0) and Lynden Christian (1-2) play on Friday, March 22, with the Mountaineers hosting Bellingham and the Lycs hosting Sehome. Both are Northwest Conference matchups.
