Sincere thanks to the members of the County Council, Ken Mann, Carl Weimer, Pete Kremen, Sam Crawford and Kathy Kershner, who cast a positive vote in favor of the Lake Whatcom reconveyance resolution. The negative votes cast by Bill Knutzen and Barbara Brenner were very disappointing and these members of the council will not get my vote in coming elections.

Whatcom County has long prided itself as an environmentally sensitive community providing a rich quality of life for those of us who are fortunate enough to live here. By passing this cost-effective resolution we can be confident that the quality of Lake Whatcom's water will not be compromised and that recreational opportunities for both residents and tourists will be enhanced.
