Two Bellingham families are competing in Puget Sound Energy's room makeover contest, Re-Energized by Design.
Viewers can follow along in weekly webisodes as the contestants grapple with design choices and tight budgets to create energy-efficient ideas for the bathroom, office or garage, living room, laundry room and kitchen.
Kay and Nat Reilly, as well as Scott and Nia Sayers, of Bellingham are among the six families going head to head each week for the top prize of $5,000, as well as high-efficiency washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges and microwaves.
The other families are in Seattle, West Seattle, Shoreline and Redmond.
Each family gets help from a design coach. A panel of three will judge the results. The family with the lowest score after each challenge is eliminated.
Go to reenergizedbydesign.com to watch the Web series' first episode, which introduces the contestants.
It premiered Wednesday, March 20.
