McMillen, Meridian win double dual over Blaine and Nooksack Valley

The Meridian boys' track and field team won nine events at a Northwest conference double dual track meet with Blaine and Nooksack Valley at Nooksack Valley High School on Wednesday, March 20.

Relijah McMillen led the Trojans by winning three individual events, as well as being part of the winning 4x100 relay team. McMillen won the 100 with a time of 11.25 seconds, the long jump with a mark of 19-10 and the triple jump with a mark of 35-09. The 4x100 team included Chase Gibson, Max McGuinn and Timothy Barnes and finished with a time of 48.20.

Blaine won five events and was led by Tracy Booth, who won the 400 in 58.06, Tom Bradley, who won the 800 in 2:18.70, and Jon Fakkema, who won the discus with a mark of 114-07.

Nooksack Valley's only win came in the high jump, where Luke VandeHoef and Connor Beard each had a mark of 5-04.

Some events were not held due to inclement weather.
