Published: March 20, 2013

The Lynden Christian boys' golf team was able to outshoot the rest of the field as it won at Avalon golf Course in a non-conference match Tuesday, March 19.

The Lyncs scored 409, Sehome shot a 432, Burlington-Edison shot a 440, Sedro-Woolley shot a 464, Mount Baker shot a 498, Ferndale shot a 501 and Squalicum shot a 503.

"I'm really pleased with the score," Lynden Christian coach Dana Hagen said in a phone interview. "409 is a good score with tough conditions and there was a pretty strong wind all day. That's a good score on a tough course. Willy shot a 75, which was a great score. He didn't start out too well, but turned it around well."

Will McCarter from Sehome and Willy Scholten from Lynden Christian both had the best score of the day, shooting a 75.
