Fire destroys mobile home west of Lynden

Published: March 19, 2013

LYNDEN - Nobody was hurt when a fire destroyed a singlewide mobile home and two cars late Monday, March 18, west of Lynden.

The resident of 301 W. Badger Road is moving out, so he wasn't home at the time, said Whatcom County Fire Marshal Will Anderson.

Adding together the value of everything lost in the flames - some tools, clothes, cars and the home - Anderson estimated the loss at $8,000.

"And that's pushing it," he said.

Firefighters had trouble piecing together the cause of the fire, because the home was burned so thoroughly.

Anderson noted it wasn't an electrical fire. For now, he labeled the cause undetermined.
