Confusion exists among South Sound jurisdictions over who should lead our community’s response to homelessness. The recent joint meetings between Olympia City Council and the Thurston County Commission seem to produce only talk about what to talk about.
A long-term and coordinated strategy with an identified funding source, spelling out the responsibilities of each jurisdiction, include Lacey and Tumwater, could be a winner.
But that would require the jurisdictions to do more than just talk.
