Ferndale tops Blaine 4-1.

The Ferndale boys' baseball team defeated Blaine 4-1 on Monday, March 18, at Pipeline Fields.

Ferndale's Kyler Brudwick opened the game up for the Golden Eagles, knocking in two runs with a two-out double in the fourth inning.

"There wasn't a lot of hitting going on, and we made a couple of mistakes that cost us a couple of runs early in the game," Blaine coach Sean Linville said in a phone interview. "All the pitchers battled; Akers did a nice job, but we left a lot of guys on base."

Ferndale (2-2) travels to Mount Baker on Tuesday, March 19, and Blaine gets the Mountaineers at Mount Baker on Wednesday, March 20.
