The Bellingham boys' baseball team defeated Sedro-Woolley 11-0 Monday, March 18, at Bellingham High School.
Matt Richard held the Cubs to just one hit and no runs over five innings, throwing just 65 pitches in his first win of the season.
"Matt was great. He kept the ball down and he was very aggressive against their hitters," Bellingham coach David Farrell said in a phone interview. "He only threw 65 pitches, and it was a nice bounce-back win for him."
Austin Shenton led the Red Raiders offensively, going 2 for 2 with a double and four RBI.
"His approach was great, and he is buying into what we're doing," Farrell said of his freshman.
Bellingham (2-1) travels to Ferndale on Wednesday, March 20.
