Blaine scores seven in the fourth to defeat Bellingham 13-1

Published: March 19, 2013

The Blaine softball team scored seven runs in the fourth inning as it defeated Bellingham 13-1 in five innings in a non-conference game Monday, March 18, at home

"We kept the game close for as many young kids as we are playing," Bellingham coach Rick Ellis said in a phone interview. "I was pleased that we hung around. We gave up runs in the third and fourth because they were able to string together some hits and put it away."

The Borderites (2-0) were led by Lexi Greguski, who batted 2 for 3 with a triple and two runs, Ashley Bolick, who hit 2 for 3 with a double, and two runs and Selena Pai, who hit 2 for 2 with a double and a run.

Bellingham (0-2) was led by Katie Hinkley, who scored the run.

Bellingham travels to Squalicum on Wednesday, March 20, while Blaine will travel to Lynden Christian, both non-conference games.
