Chester Allen, former outdoors writer for The Olympian, will give a program March 27 on trout fishing to the Olympia Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
Allen will talk about the opportunities to catch sea-run cutthroat trout in the South Sound, as well fishing for brown trout in eastern Oregon. His color slides will cover up-to-date information on fishing techniques with the fisheries resources.
Allen published his first book, “Fly Fishing for Sea-Run Cutthroat,” in January 2012 and has begun work on a second book. He now lives in Portland and Hood River, Ore.
Light refreshments will be provided and all who attend can participate in the fishing-equipment raffle.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the North Olympia Fire Station, 5046 Boston Harbor Road NE, Olympia.
