Lynden Christian senior post Isaac Reimer has been selected the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association's Class 1A State Player of the Year, according to a press release last week.

One year after helping the Lyncs win the 1A state title, Reimer helped LC get back to the state tournament and bring home the fifth-place trophy this year.

The two-time All-Northwest Conference Player of the Year finished fourth in the Northwest Conference with 16.3 points per game and finished his four-year career averaging a double-double.

Reimer was honored at the WIBCA All-State Games Saturday, March 16, at Curtis High School.

The All-State Games feature three all-star games, matching Class 4A vs. Class 3A, Class 2A vs. Class 1A and Class 2B vs. Class 1B.

Lynden's John Shine and Dak Shagren were both selected to the 2A All-State roster, after they helped the Lions finish third in the Class 2A State Tournament earlier this month.

Shine averaged a team-high 13.4 points per game, while Shagren was right behind with 12.8.

Anacortes' A.J. Yost also was on the 2A All-Star squad.

Earning the state's Mr. Basketball award was Bothell's Zach LaVine. Earning top honors in the respective classifications were Bellarmine's Lucas Meikle (Class 4A), Lincoln's TreShaun Fletcher (3A), River Ridge's Brad Wallace (2A), La Conner's Spencer Novak (2B) and Sunnyside Christian's Brandon Broersma (1B).
