The Bellingham girls' tennis team swept Sedro-Woolley to win 7-0 in a non-conference match in Sedro-Woolley on Friday, March 15.
"It was our first match and it was just so fun to get to play," Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said in a phone interview. "After so many rainouts it was fun to get to play. First matches are always exciting and it was a fun day."
The Red Raiders (1-0) were led by Kara Burns in the third singles, who defeated Alivia Nichols 6-0, 6-0. Olivia Giles and Leah Nichols won the third doubles match 6-0, 6-1 for Bellingham.
"I thought everybody played really well and did some good things," Chronister said. "Everybody did a good job."
Bellingham hosts Burlington-Edison on Monday, March 18, in a non-conference match.
