Published: March 16, 2013

The Meridian softball team scored in every inning to defeat Bellingham 14-4 at home in five innings in a non-conference game Friday, March 15.

"It's good to get a W and have all the girls in the game," Meridian coach Tony Johnson said in a phone interview. "It was a good experience for them. We had four errors and they all came when they scored and we need to tighten up on D a little bit."

Meridian (1-1) was led by Angela Roderick, who batted 2 for 4 and had a double, a run and a RBI. Juliana Magliano was the winning pitcher, and also batted 2 for 3 with a run and a RBI.

The Red Raiders (0-1) were led by Yuli Buckley, Jasmine Midgley and Beth McFadden, who each had a hit.

Meridian will host Squalicum on Monday, March 18, while Bellingham travels to Blaine, both non-conference games.
