The Sehome baseball team was able to hold on in its 7-5 win at Ferndale in a non-conference game Friday, March 15.
"Sehome came out and swung it really well," Ferndale coach Donny Hennigs said in a phone interview. "We have some new guys getting introduced to varsity baseball and with that comes some growing pains. We'll fight through it though."
Josh Zavisubin earned the win for the Mariners (2-1) off the mound. Jacob Manson batted 3 for 4 with two doubles and Tyler Knutsen went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI for Sehome.
The Golden Eagles (1-2) were led by Brady Shearer, who batted 2 for 4, and Austin Sprague, who went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI.
Sehome travels to Oak Harbor on Saturday, March 16, while Ferndale travels to Blaine on Monday, March 18, both non-conference games.
