Whatcom executive to give 'state of the county'

BELLINGHAM - Whatcom County Executive Jack Louws will give a state of the county address Tuesday, March 19, at a meeting of the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The talk starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Hampton Inn, 3985 Bennett Drive. The cost is $25 for chamber members and $35 for nonmembers. Register at 360-734-1330.

Louws recently completed his first year as county executive. In 2012, the county selected a preferred site for a new county jail and made progress on restructuring Whatcom Medic One, to keep city and county ambulance services unified.
