Nooksack Valley tops Mount Baker 7-1

Nooksack Valley boys' baseball beat Mount Baker 7-1 in five innings Thursday, March 14, at Nooksack Valley High School.

Nooksack starting pitcher Brandon Gwinner threw three innings of one-run ball in the rain-dampened game.

"The first inning, the weather was a bit of a factor for him," said Nooksack coach Scott Gelwicks in a phone interview. "But once he settled in, he looked good and strong."

Tyler Cienfuegos chipped in two hits and two RBI while Tyrel Cronk had the Mountaineers' only RBI.
