Meridian's boys' soccer team fell to Anacortes 2-0 on Thursday, March 14, at Anacortes High School.

Akira Nystrom scored two second-half goals to down the Trojans, who were playing with starting forward Tomas Alvarado at goalie.

"(Tomas) did a heck of a job for us," said Meridian coach Joe Spencer in a phone interview. "It was a pretty even-played game, and both teams played hard, but the middle of the field was really kicking out because of the mud."
