The Lynden boys' baseball team defeated Ferndale 4-1 on Thursday, March 14, at Lynden High School.
Leading the Lions was starting pitcher Tanner Olson, who threw a complete game, striking out nine while only giving up four hits.
"He was getting ahead in the count early, which really helped set up his off-speed pitches," Lynden coach Cory White said in a phone interview. "He was able to keep them off balance (all game)."
Ferndale's Brady Bauthues threw six solid innings of four-hit ball, but got tagged for three runs in the fourth.
