Bellingham overcomes weather for easy win

The Bellingham girls' golf team topped the field of six Tuesday, March 12, at Raspberry Ridge Golf Course.

The Red Raiders, with a score of 137, bested second-place Squalicum by 48 points. Bellingham's Jenn Paul and Audrey Orem medaled with a day-high score of 34. Squalicum's Riley Andert matched the two Red Raiders with a 34 of her own.

"It was raining sideways, but I thought everyone played well as a whole," Mount Baker coach Mike Lembo said in a phone interview. The Mountaineers finished in third, and were led by Laura Wilson's 22 points.

The entire field play's next Tuesday, March 19, at Sudden Valley Golf and Country Club at 3 p.m.
