Quality health care at lower costs topic of Bellingham meeting

BELLINGHAM - Ways to improve the quality of health care while reducing costs will be the focus of a Saturday, March 16, public meeting hosted by the League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County.

Naida Grunden, author of "The Pittsburgh Way to Efficient Healthcare," will introduce LEAN concepts as applied to health care, including case studies.

Dr. Jeremy Blanchard, vice president of quality and medical affairs at St. Joseph hospital, will discuss quality improvement methods.

Dr. David Lynch, vice president for clinical process improvement and business development at Family Care Network, will talk about the quality revolution in doctor offices across this region.

The free event runs 10 a.m. to noon in the downstairs conference room of the Bellingham Public Library, 210 Central Ave.
