Tacoma RV Show features models from simple to luxurious

Published: March 10, 2013

The 30th annual Tacoma RV Show will showcase recreational vehicles from more than a dozen dealers when it opens Thursday.

From luxury motorhomes to tent trailers, 15 dealers will showcase more than 200 brands. Models will include luxury motor homes with full-size refrigerators and skylights, fifth-wheels with four bunks, retro-styled travel trailers, and pop-up hard-wall trailers that look like miniature ski chalets, said show manager Jeff Swenson.

“The RV market is more targeted than ever, so there is literally an RV for every need and taste,” Swenson said.

Among the dealers on hand will be:

Apache Camping Center: Specializing in RVs weighing less than 4,000 pounds, the Tacoma center plans to show the Eagle Cap and Chalet. The Eagle Cap truck camper has an aluminum frame construction. Interior features include full-wall and dinette slideouts, hardwood cabinet doors, LED lights and mini-blinds for all windows. Standard features on the Chalet include a large storage area, heated basement and solid wood interiors.

Valley Auburn RV: This dealer will highlight the Jayco Jay Flight, the top-selling travel trailer in the country. The Jay Flight comes with family-friendly features that include an electric awning, outdoor stove/barbecue, outside shower, skylight and a built-in entertainment system.

Paul Evert’s RV: This Fife dealer plans to spotlight the 2013 Holiday Rambler Ambassador and the Dutchmen RV Infinity RVs. The Ambassador diesel motorhome has full-wall slide-outs, two LCD TVs, washer and dryer, pantry and more. The Dutchmen fifth-wheel comes equipped with five slide-outs, king bed, walk-through bath with skylight, entry closet, wood cabinets and fireplace.

In addition to RV dealers, the show also includes specialty recreational vehicle destination planning booths.
