Outlook: Plenty of optimism follows the Lyncs into the 2013 season. And for good reason. Lynden Christian, which fell just short of a state berth last year, returns eight of its 11 starters. Of those, 2012 points leaders Lucas Reardon and Toby Dalla Santa are seniors and will be counted on to handle the scoring load. Cody Fransen, Trevor Kamena and Trevor Dalla Santa give LC a number of other players who are more than capable of helping the front line. Tested senior keeper Brady Harvey returns to goal, and coach Brent De Ruyter expects a strong season from him. "I think our key is our balance," De Ruyter said in a phone interview. "Our skill players are front to back, and we have a couple in each area of the field." De Ruyter said LC is placing an emphasis on physical play, having a defensive mindset across the field and limiting mistakes. Midfielders Colin Robinson and Hunter Weinert are two De Ruyter said should earn more minutes this year and add even more skill in the middle third.
