Two weeks after the U.S. Postal Service began processing Whatcom County mail in Seattle instead of Everett, mail still seems to be arriving in the same time frame.
From some test mailings and recording of various mail sent and arriving, staff at The Bellingham Herald found no delays in mail sent or received.
The Postal Service had promised no changes in such delivery when the cost-saving switch was made starting Feb. 23. Whatcom County mail that used to be processed and postmarked in Everett is now handled in Seattle.
