BELLINGHAM - A sex offender with a violent past has moved to the 5100 block of Meridian Street.
David Gerard Liotta, 50, sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint in Texas in 1989, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office. He served a 15-year sentence before moving to Whatcom County.
Since then, court records show he has been convicted of failure to register as a sex offender, unlawful possession of a firearm and - for exposing himself to a 58-year-old neighbor in 2011 - stalking and incident exposure.
Liotta stands 5 feet 3 inches and weighs 125 pounds, according to the sheriff's office. He has brown hair, blue eyes, and tattoos on his right arm and left leg.
He is considered a Level III sex offender, meaning he's at high risk to offend again.
