WWU game postponed because of weather

Published: March 7, 2013

Inclement weather forced game one of a softball doubleheader Wednesday, March 6, between Western Washington and Montana State Billings to be postponed after four innings with the score tied at 3-3.

That contest will be completed and game two played at noon Thursday, March 7, at Viking Field.

WWU took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Camille Depew had a lead-off single, advanced to third on a passed ball and ground out and scored on a double by Alexie Levin.

MSUB scored three runs in the top of the fourth. Nicole Wilkerson doubled across one run, Emily Osborn came home on a wild pitch and Breanna Wilson plated the other run with a sacrifice fly.

The Vikings tied the game with two runs in the fourth. Jackie Rothenberger led off with a triple and scored on a two-out single by Depew. Kristen Allen then singled across Cheyenne Best, who had walked earlier.

Pitching for WWU was Jenna DeRosier and in the circle for the Yellowjackets was Amanda Todd.
