The Republicans should face the fact that social relations and the material circumstances we face have changed since 1500. I believe it is about time they came to the circumstances facing the 21st century people of whom they wish to represent - for reasons I can only imagine - so that they and their friends can exploit the public?
It is truly painful for all of us that, I believe, the Republicans reach back to pre-feudal times for their support of an anarchistic system. Do they truly believe that we would be better off without a viable government? One wonders if there is any hope of rational behavior in the face of their oppositional thrusts.
What kind of a society can we want when we have such scientific triumphs of sending a man to the moon, but we cannot fund proper maintenance of the infrastructure of public utility needs of highways, sewers and water?
What kind of a society would permit millions of unemployed without some proper remedies? We need all to work and participate in the broader distribution of income in an effort to achieve a just society. We have got to contain the demi-urge of trying to get ahead of someone else.
