The Whatcom Community College men's basketball season ended after a 81-73 loss to Tacoma in a consolation round game at the NWAACC Tournament on Monday, March 4, at Kennewick.
The win put Tacoma into the 5th/6th place game on Tuesday, March 5.
The Orcas were up by eight points after an 11-4 run in the first half. Tacoma took the lead with 8 minutes left in the first half and never trailed the rest of the game.
Whatcom was down by four at halftime and got within two points on multiple occasions in the second half, but eventually fell behind by 13 with under 3 minutes to play.
Ian Tevis led Whatcom with 21 points while Zach Stalin had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Impero scored 11 points for the Orcas.
