Says taxpayers shouldn't pay for corporate trash

Published: March 3, 2013

I read the article about our tax dollars being used to clean up the mess left by GP. Where are those conservatives who don't want the government meddling around in the affairs of private business? I for one object that our tax dollars are being used to clean up somebody's mess. I could also be real profitable if I threw my garbage in my neighbor's yard. And, what about this new project north of town at Cherry Point. When GPT goes out of business, moves or sells out, who's going to clean up their mess? It's time to make sure that there are stipulations in the agreement to let them build this project that they will be responsible to clean up their mess. It's not the taxpayers' responsibility to pay to clean up corporate trash.
