Western Washington University's Pee Wee Halsell has been named United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association West Region Indoor Track Men's Coach of the Year for 2013.
It was the second men's regional indoor track honor for Halsell, who is in his 26th year coaching men's and women's cross country and track and field for the Vikings.
Halsell led WWU to the GNAC men's outdoor team title, its third, snapping a five-year string by Western Oregon. Eleven school records were broken during the season.
The 54-year-old Halsell has mentored 119 All-Americans and eight national champions and won 17 league or district titles during his tenure at WWU.
