Lots of people are struggling to get by from month to month and have had to cut back on things to help them get by. A few years ago our voters were asked to increase the tax on a gallon of gas by nine cents a gallon and the voters rejected the idea with a large percent of no votes. Our then-governor Christine Gregoire thought she new better what was good for us and passed a law overturning our votes on gas tax and raised the tax by nine cents a gallon. Get ready for more taxes folks. Forty of our mayors around the State of Washington have banded together to submit a proposal to the new governor to raise the taxes on gas again by eight cents a gallon. One of those mayors is our own new Mayor Kelly Linville. We already have some of the, if not the highest tax on gas in the USA. I guess the old tax-and-spend mentality is still here? Raising the price of gas only makes people cut down on their trips and find other ways to get around so I believe it does no good to raise tax on gas. The taxes we pay on gas has not really seemed to stall the road reprair we see and have seen during the last few years. Call, write or email your state and local representatives and let them know we have had enough of their tax-and-spend policy. Flood their inbox and voice mail to let them hear fom you! Do it today.
