Says coal no problem, provides jobs

Published: February 25, 2013

I see an opportunity to take a product which is being unfairly defamed and misrepresented by progressives and liberals in the state and make use of this product to build an industrial base in some other country. This other country happens to hold much of our balance of payments deficit credits and bonds that we issue to cover our federal debt.

Providing China with this coal may allow the United States to improve its debt position with China in a positive fashion for a change.

There also has been a tremendous amount of negative press about this depot and coal being transported through Washington concerning coal dust pollution associated with this transport. The truth is that the coal is sprayed with a surfactant mixture which binds the dust to the coal so that it does not blow out on the tracks and surrounding terrain while it is in transport.

I believe there has been much negative lying about this topic which destresses me because people should not lie about what they don't know about!. I am just sick of the lies being spread about the depot and about the safety of transporting coal when the main issue, as I see it, is creating jobs for Whatcom County.
