One of the arguments in favor of the Gateway Pacific Terminal is that it will bring jobs. If you are unemployed or underemployed and are one of those desiring the coal terminal because it means you will get a job, please consider this: the people and environment of Whatcom County do not owe you a job. Everyone needs to take care of themselves and their families. If you are not able to do so with the current employment opportunities in this county the answer is obvious: move. It is not right, in fact I find it downright selfish, to expect tens of thousands of people to sacrifice their quality of life so you can put bread on your table. Whatcom County -- love it or leave it.
