Cedar Park Christian cruises past La Center at Mount Vernon Regional

MOUNT VERNON - Fifth-ranked Cedar Park Christian turned nine offensive rebounds into 15 points and rolled to a 74-51 victory over La Center in the regional round of the Class 1A State Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Mount Vernon High School.

The Eagles' first six points were scored off offensive rebounds in the first two minutes, as they took a lead they would never relinquish and stretched it 41-27 by halftime. Cedar Park Christian (20-2) also scored 21 points off 20 La Center turnovers.

Evan Scholten led four Eagles in double figures with 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and four blocked shots. Trey Drechsel and Luke Saufferer scored 13 points, while Daniel Christenson recorded 12.

Wyatt Aguirre led the Wildcats with 19 points.
