Help sought testing mail turnaround times for Whatcom County

Published: February 20, 2013

At the end of this week, the U.S. Postal Service will start postmarking and processing mail from Whatcom County through a Seattle center instead of in Everett.

Postal officials have said this change will not delay postmarks or mail coming or going to the county.

The Bellingham Herald is tracking some mail to test this. We'd like readers' help.

Starting next week, note if you're receiving your bills, magazines, Netflix and other items in the same time frame you have been in recent years. Is the mail you send arriving at the same time as always? Or is it later, and by how much?

Please let us know your observations by emailing us at newsroom@bellinghamherald.com and putting "postal time" in the subject line. Or mail your results to The Bellingham Herald newsroom, 1155 N. State St., Suite 200, Bellingham, WA 98225. Make sure to include your name, city and pertinent details. Your submission information may be used in an article.
