The 13th annual Bellingham Human Rights Film Festival kicks off with a silent auction to benefit the volunteer nonprofit organization at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Pickford Film Center, 1318 Bay St.
The auction will be followed by a screening of "Bidder 70," a film about a young activist, Tim DeChristopher, who was found guilty after he admittedly sought to disrupt a controversial oil-and-gas auction by posing as a bidder.
Nineteen more documentary films follow through March 2 at various locations, including Whatcom Community College, Fairhaven College, First Congregational Church of Bellingham and Northwest Indian College. Details: bhrff.webs.com.
