Center Britt Harris had 15 points on 7-of-9 field-goal shooting as nationally ranked Western Washington University rebounded with a 71-54 victory over Montana State University Billings in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball contest Thursday, Feb. 14, in Billings, Mont.

The Vikings, who had an 11-game winning streak snapped last Saturday with a 74-59 loss at Simon Fraser, improved to 18-3 overall and extended their lead in the GNAC to two games at 12-1 as SFU lost at Seattle Pacific, 70-60.

Guard Corinn Waltrip had 14 points and forward Trishi Williams added 13 points and eight assists for WWU, ranked No. 9 in this week's Top 25 Poll.

MSUB fell to 15-7 overall and 9-5 in the GNAC despite the game-high 20 points of guard Bobbi Knudsen. Kayleen Goggins had 12 points for the Yellowjackets, who also got a game-high 12 rebounds from Janiel Olson.

The Vikings held a 30-27 lead at halftime and were still up by just four, 42-38, 14:30 into the second half, but then went on an 8-1 run to grab a 50-39 advantage, with just under 12 minutes left.

The Yellowjackets rallied to within six, 50-44, on a Knudsen lay-in with eight minutes to go, but never got that close again, as the margin was at least nine points through the final six minutes.

Harris had 13 of her points in the second half, going 6 of 6 from the field to help the Vikings shoot 58.6 percent (17 of 29) after halftime. WWU held MSUB to 33.3 percent (10 of 30) shooting in the second half and 35.8 percent (19 of 53) for the game.
