HUNTING

Light goose season opens Saturday, Feb. 16

The hunt stretches across portions of southern and eastern Idaho. The season on Ross' and snow geese runs through March 10 in areas 2 and 3. The bag limit is 10 per day and 20 in possession.

Area 3 includes Ada, Boise, Canyon, Cassia, Elmore, Gem, Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln, Minidoka, Owyhee, Payette, Twin Falls and Washington counties. See map on page 11 of the Waterfowl Seasons and Rules brochure, or online at fishandgame.idaho.gov.

Hunters are reminded that Fort Boise, including Gold Island, and Payette River wildlife management areas and the part of Roswell Marsh Wildlife Habitat Area south of Idaho 18, and the Snake River Islands Unit of the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge are closed during the spring light goose season.

CAMPING

Idaho Power offers discounts for seniors, vets

The company started a three-year program to provide discounted fees to service-disabled military veterans and seniors at its C.J. Strike Reservoir and Hells Canyon parks. A service-related disability qualifies a vet for a 50 percent discount on overnight camping. Seniors 60 and older will get $2 off camping per night from April 1 to Oct. 31.
