Small-city mayors to hold forum in Ferndale

FERNDALE - Mayors from Whatcom County's smaller cities will get together to discuss common issues at a forum Saturday, Feb. 16.

The event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Community Resource Center, 5694 Second Ave.

"The State of Our Small Cities," presented by the League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County, will include mayors Gary Jensen of Ferndale, Scott Korthuis of Lynden, Harry Robinson of Blaine, Bob Bromley of Sumas, Jim Ackerman of Nooksack and John Perry of Everson. Topics will include growth, demographic changes, economic development, sustainability and crime.

Professional mediator Mary Dumas will moderate and encourage the audience to ask questions.
