Lynden loses in first round 47-43

The Lynden girls' basketball team lost 47-43 at Archbishop Murphy in the first round of the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The Lions (12-9) will play at Sultan on Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the first consolation round.

"It was a tale of two halves," Lynden coach Rob Adams said in a phone interview. "We gave ourselves a few chances down the stretch and had three possesions in a row down by three and just couldn't convert."

Lynden was down 33-18 at halftime, but was able to outscore Archbishop Murphy 25-15 in the second half.
