The Bellingham girls' basketball team lost its opening round game of the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament 56-27 at Cedarcrest on Saturday, Feb. 9.
The Red Raiders (11-11) will play at Lake Washington on Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the consolation first round.
"We could not match their pressure and turned it over way too many times and they pounded us," Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview. "They made us pay every time."
Bellingham turned the ball over 39 times in the game.
The Red Raiders were led by Olivia Halverson, who scored 14 points and had seven rebounds.
"Olivia had a good game," McKay said. "When we were able to get her the ball she did a good job battling through. We just were unable to get into our offense and make much happen."
