WCC women spread scoring around, win 74-44

The Whatcom Community College women's basketball team spread the scoring around in its 74-44 win at home against Edmonds Saturday, Feb. 9.

"I think we really responded really well from our loss on Wednesday," Whatcom coach Sara Bergner said in a phone interview. "There was a lot of good individual stats and we had a lot of people contribute which was nice to see."

The Orcas were led by Amanda Tapia, who scored 20 points and had seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.

"It was a good game for Amanda," Bergner said. "She handled the ball really well for us and handled the pressure really well which showed tonight."

Bree Park scored 17 points, Cambie Edwards scored 10 points and Erika Locker scored 11 points and had 13 rebounds for Whatcom.

Whatcom has a 5 p.m. game at Olympic on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
