The Ferndale wrestling team finished third at the Class 3A Regional Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Ferndale had a team total of 156 points. Stanwood finished first with 184 points and Oak Harbor finished second with 176 points.

Kam Williams finished first for the Golden Eagles in the 220 weight class, and Sam Alexander (182) took second.

Mike Carpenter (106), Derek Vajda (132), Riley Saenz (145) and Klinton Maassen (182) all finished third for Ferndale, while Isaiah Heredia (113), Adaeus Wilson-Premo (126) and Hunter Grunhurd (195) all finished fourth. Erik Engels finished fifth and will be an alternate for the 195 weight class.

The wrestling state championships will take place at the Tacoma Dome starting on Friday, Feb. 15.
