DAWN JAMES
School: Lummi
Sport: Girls' basketball
Year: Junior
Position: Point guard
What she did: James scored 22 points and hit six 3-pointers in Lummi's win over Cedar Park Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 5, and added 13 points and three 3-pointers in a loss to Lopez on Thursday, Feb. 7. She also did a good job distributing the ball, allowing the Blackhawks to open up their offense, and was a standout on defense.
Coach's quote: "Defensively Dawn is capable of providing opportunities by stealing the ball and attacking in transition. This puts teammates into scoring positions while her opponent gets into foul trouble trying to stop her. Dawn has a lot of talent and abilities with lots of room to improve. We are looking forward to her senior year, when she will help guide a much improved team that will now have a full year of varsity experience to grow from." - Woody Bakke
