Guide Meridian was closed briefly Friday morning, Feb. 8, as police arrested five people at a suspected drug house north of Bellingham, according to the Bellingham Police Department.

Meridian was closed at Smith Road for less than 10 minutes at 7 a.m., as Bellingham SWAT team members and detectives from the Special Investigation Unit served a warrant at a house at 5411 Guide Meridian.

Police have been investigating suspected drug activity at the house since late January.

Ronald Nyreen, 46, and Kasandra Cruz, 25, were booked into Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of methamphetamine delivery. Kari Harriman, 22, was booked on an unrelated shoplifting charge and for probable cause for an investigation of forgery and second-degree possession of stolen property. Zack Seward, 27, and Andrew Gomez, 24, were booked on warrants for third-degree driving with a suspended license.

Police seized a small amount of methamphetamine and a handgun from the home.
