The Bellingham Public Works Department said the following roads will have traffic limitations during the week of the week of February 11-15, 2013, to accommodate construction and repair.
Key Street and Liberty Street
Ram Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, will be continuing the 2012 Water Main Replacement project on Key Street, moving to Liberty Street toward the end of the week. There will be no parking on Key Street on selected blocks from Myrtle to Chestnut streets. Key Street will be closed one block at a time. Expect delays. Sunnyland neighborhood Inflow and Infiltration sewer project
Truck traffic will increase along the alley between Franklin and Grant streets from Alabama St. south to Kentucky Street as ICI Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, continues a project to remove rain and ground water from the sewer system while replacing sewer mains and laterals. Restoration work is underway in the same alley from Alabama Street north to E. Illinois Street. Flaggers will direct traffic as needed through lane closures. Ellis Street at Plymouth Drive will be reduced to a single lane while Interwest Construction, under contract with the City of Bellingham, replaces the sewer main line.
