Lynden optometrist acquires Bellingham clinic

Mira Swiecicki, owner of Lynden Vision Clinic, recently expanded her practice by acquiring Spyglass Optik in Bellingham.

Swiecicki assumed operations of Spyglass Optik after purchasing it from Jeffrey Young on Friday, Feb. 1. Young, who founded the clinic in 2005, is relocating out of state, but his employees are staying at Spyglass Optik, according to a news release.

Swiecicki was named 2012 Optometric Physician of the Year by the Optometric Physicians of Washington.

Spyglass Optik now accepts Group Health Cooperative, Regence, Medicare and several other insurance carriers. The clinic is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. An open house is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.
