MOUNT VERNON - One of six public forums across the state to learn about and give ideas on how the state should handle Initiative 502 - legal marijuana - will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, at McIntyre Hall, 2501 E. College Way.
The meetings are being held by the Washington State Liquor Control Board, which is in charge of developing rules for the legal sale of marijuana after voters passed the initiative in November.
People who attend can learn about the agency's role in handling the law and can offer their thoughts on how the state should regulate marijuana sales.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with an open house, followed by a quick overview at 7 p.m. Public testimony will be taken from roughly 7:15 to 10 p.m. Arrive early; other hearings have drawn capacity crowds. The hearing location was changed to accommodate a larger crowd.
