The Whatcom Community College men's basketball team was able to overcome poor shooting to win at Skagit 82-67 in a NWAACC game Wednesday, Feb. 6.
"It was a tough game," Whatcom coach Chris Scrimsher said in a phone interview. "We didn't take a commanding lead until the last 6 minutes. We just played flat all game on both ends and had trouble making a shot in the first half."
Whatcom (7-2 North, 15-6) was led by Eric Fongue, who scored 18 points, and Zach Stalin, who scored 16 points.
"Fongue did a really good job tonight," Schrimsher said. "We didn't play very well, but we got a win on the road and that's what is important."
The Orcas will host Edmonds on Saturday, Feb. 9, in a NWAACC game.
